Another piece of evidence that
seems to support the idea of panspermia
is that we now know that comets
contain organic molecules.
In 2004, NASA's STARDUST
mission had a close rendezvous
with Comet P/Wild 2 to capture a sample of
the comet's coma. The spacecraft
returned the sample to Earth in 2006.
Naturally,
there are
lots of
interesting organic molecules in the comet.
