Evolutions of rocks and environments

There are three other terms of interest. Second:

  • Erosion -- the mechanical (or chemical) process of wearing down rocks.

    As mountains are thrust up via orogenies, erosion wears mountains down. Erosive forces are wind, water, ice, and abrasion (scouring).
